This was our last safari and we were blessed by so many sightings, so many animals. We got to see the big three out of five; the many elephants, the thousands of African buffalos and 22 lions! But we were delighted by a surprise on our rooftop, the cheetah!
And of course we saw sooo many other animals in the endless stunning Savannah of Tanzania.
We stayed in this impressive hotel; the Melia Serengeti Lodge, sitting on this high plateau with some kind of an ethereal view- each night watching the vibrant sunset over this immense terrain. The staff was so kind and we received amazing service from the general manager Cesar
There is not another lodge or hotel in site for at least one hour!
Again we were very few people in this lodge. The chef Sofia was so talented, I wanted you to take her home!! When we arrived, we were greeted by these handsome tall Masai- they can even take you on a walking safari amongst lions and let you know how to behave! I wish I had known- I would have experienced it!
We used the gym, had healing massages.
It was a great way to end our one month African escapade ! It’s an experience that enhanced our lives, it’s a huge learning curve to witness the culture of 2 northern African countries versus the lifestyle of the central eastern African countries. In general we noticed that people were grateful and happy. It’s a blessing to have the ability to experience such diverse travel.
Now in our way to Costa Rica after 3 flights and 25 hours!

Landing for a minute in Zanzibar – well I wanted to go vacation there but at least I touched the ground for a minute!
