TUNISIA, La Marsa, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said

We arrive in Tunisia and stayed for one short night at the Movenpick; a lovely hotel on La Marsa beach.

The next day we were privy to seeing many UNESCO sites such as the ancient city of Carthage which was a Mediterranean power prior to 146 BC, unfortunately subsequently destroyed by the Romans ( imagine a world where everything was preserved! )

The city of Carthage contains the ruins of an ancient aqueduct, ancient huge Roman spa with well preserved arches, Roman villas with detailed mosaics, a Tophet, burial ground for children and animals and finally the picturesque village Sidi Bou Said overlooking the Mediterranean.
