CASABLANCA

Big industrial city – glad to have spent just one night!

Le Doge- Relais and Chateaux hôtel –

It’s an unassuming entrance- but as soon as we entered we were thrown into the 1920’s! from the way the staff was dressed- the level of service to the fact that each room was dedicated to an artist of the period with completely different decor.

Art deco bedroom – dedicated to poet Gabrielle Collette
Cool period Art
That saying from Gabrielle Collette is A bit how I live!
Le Doge dining room with incredible stained glass
Having lunch at the old fort in the Medina
Great lunch at La Sqala in the fort of the Medina

Fun shops in the Medina
Hassan II mosque

The Hassan II mosque is newly built – it took 13 years – the largest mosque in Morocco and the tallest Minaret with a Andalusian influence and all material came from Morocco except for the Italian chandelier- it is also built half over the ocean

Hassan II tallest Minaret
Andalusian inspired passageway Hassan II
Marble laden interior of Hassan II mosque
Wooden carved roof opening to the sky

Casablanca is a great stop for one night as a tourist, that’s most likely enough it’s after all a huge business center , but the service was great everywhere and people go out of their way to help.
